HCF Note: This is a photocopy of the Bible record of John and Rachel Pindell. A photocopy of the label states: THIS BIBLE (printed) is the property of John & Rachel Coombs (in handwriting). A copy of a typed abstract of these records, presumably by Fred Coombs, describes the Bible as "Printed by Matthew Carey, Philadelphia, Penn., in 1803." This would account for why the handwritten entries are all in a very uniform hand, probably all writtenby the same person some time after the events, which may indicate an earlier source and/or make the record somewhat suspect. Also note that all children were probably born in Fayette County, PA)
