Bible Record of Margaret Adelia Combs Graham |

"The following information is from the bible of Margaret Adelia Combs Graham (10-26-1868 to 7-1-1958), my great grandmother. In that bible was a sheet that stated the parents and siblings of her husband, General Lafayette Graham, which I will not include. Upon Margaret Adelia's death a member of the family supposedly obtained many of her possessions and sold them to an antique dealer. The bible was one of the items sold. The person who bought the bible allowed my aunt to copy the information from the family record portion. My information is from this copy and I have not seen the original. Since this all happened in the late 50's orearly 60's, I have not been able to locate the original information.
Note: The parenthetical about "Chidester UNDERWOOD" originally led me to believe he was Polly's stepfather, but a check of the marriage records for Green Co., KY posted on this board in April showed that Chichester UNDERWOOD and Polly Combs married April 6,1827 which would make the reference apply to Feilden rather than Polly; i.e.,
"Polly _____ , widow of an unknown Combs, married Chichester UNDERWOOD 6 Apr 1827, Greene Co, KY. (Marriage CD, copy of marriage record has been ordered). Polly's son, Fielding Richard Combs, married Sally WILLIAMS, widow of Wiley CLIFTON, 23 Sep 1849, Madison Co., MO (County Marriage Records).
"With regard to the Combs, the bible listed the following information:"
| "General Lafayette GRAHAM married Margaret Adelia
CombsMarch 24, 1889" "Oscar S. GRAHAM October 2, 1893" "Lora Ethel GRAHAM February 10, 1893" "Floyd Webster GRAHAM April 1, 1903" "Nellie Rose GRAHAM January 25, 1903" "Sarah Jane WILLIAMS Combs, Crawford Co. Missouri "Feilden R. Combs, Jackson, Kentucky "her parents" "Bro. Peter WILLIAMS, Baptist minister |
