Goals

  • Identify the “genetic profile” for this lineage.
  • Determine the “lineage genetic profile” this branch of COOMBS belongs to by comparison with others.
  • Determine the parents of John Coombs and Mary Bridge(s) Gen #7. Use genetic data to prove/disprove three theories by Charles Sinnett in his “The History of the Coombs Family of Bellingham, Mass.” book
  • Note: Solid documentation for direct line from #1 to #7. The General Society of Mayflower Descendants approved an application that gave John's parents as John Coombs (born 10/3/1697) and Susanna Strong (born 2/22/1687/8). This line leads back to Degory Priest, a Mayflower passenger. I have found information that discredits the documentation of this line and the Mayflower no longer accepts applications with this General and State number.
