Goals

  • Determine the “genetic profile” for this branch of COMBS.
  • Establish the “lineage genetic profile” of the ancestry for this line.
  • Settle the question of whether Anthony/Alister was the same person or two different people and whether he came from France or Scotland.
  • Note: Generations 3-10 are documented in Anthony Coombs and His Descendants by William Carey Coombs published in 1913, albeit with some errors that I have referenced in my post yesterday on Peter Coombs (1781-1810). William Carey Coombs' genealogy contains a lot of flat out conjecture and romanticism presented about Anthony/Alister almost as fact, but with little corroboration.
