In Greene Co on the Oconee River including the mouth of Falling Creek part of a tract of 5x5 acres granted to John FREEMAN 29 Sept 1784 except 150 A conveyed by John FREEMAN to Charles Smith beginning at the Smith's upper corner of the said River & bounded by said River up to the corner hickory as is mentioned on said grant. 12 Mar 1797 - 15 Mar 1797 (Greene Deed Bk 2, pp 285-286). 12 Mar 1797--William HAMMET of Greene Co to Joseph Cloud THRASHER of same. 100L sterling. 40 acres. In Greene Co on Sandy Creek including the old mill seat, part of a tract granted to William PHILLIPS & these 40 sold by Uriah GREER to William HAMMETT. Beginning at THRASHER'S upper corner at mouth of a branch running across Sandy Creek to a pine corner thence along in one line to a white oak corner, thence down a fence to Sandy Creek then along said creek to dogwood to the old line, thence along the said line to a red oak corner, from thence along to a poplar on THRASHER'S line on the said creek, thence up the said line to the beginning. A tract of land including the mouth of Falling Creek, then up said creek on the N side until it intersects with the Oglethorpe line, thence a direct course to the upper end of said HAMMET old field above the Mill Pond, thence to High Water mark at the Mill Pond & up said Mill Dam as before said at high water mark to the mouth of little falling creek 'til it strikes said HAMMET'S back line where it crosses said creek & thence along said line to red oak corner, thence a direct course until it intersects Charles Smith's line & thence along said to a red oak thence a direct line to a hickory on the River thence up said River Oconah to the beginning line, part of a tract granted to John FREEMAN 29 Sept 1784 except 150 acres conveyed by John FREEMAN to Charles Smith, & one other tract conveyed to John McCombs by said HAMMET the number of acres not known being on the N. Granted by Gov George Mathews survey 7 Mar 1786, grant 3 Dec 1794. Bounded SW by vacant land & all other sides surveyed land. Wt: Richard Coaplin, Henry Disoon. Recorded 10 Apr 1800. 7 Apr 1800 - (Greene Deed Bk 2, pp 701-703. 7 Apr 1800--William HEMMETT & wife Elizabeth of Greene Co to William ROBERTSON of same. $300. 147 acres. In Greene Co near the Scullshole of the Oconee River on both sides of Ran? Creek of the said River near & above Slab Camp branch of said creek. Warrant bearing date of 7 March 1786 & surveyed 24 March 1786 for Grayham dated 3 Dec 1794. Beginning at a corner hickory & running S 23 W 70 chains crossing the creek to corner red oak thence 75 E 42 chains crossing the said creek to corner red oak thence N 5 W 82 chains to the beginning corner hickory. The land after geing granted to Grayham was occupied by Peter Hagler. Wt: Gilbert Gay, Benjamin Wallace, James Turner. Recorded 15 Sept 1802.
