Obituary - Alice Catherine SELF (Mountain Democrat Newspaper, Placerville, California (El Dorado County) - February 2, 1950) (Submitted by Combs Researcher Faye Shankle, great-granddaughter of Albert Combs)

Alice Catherine SELF - Missouri Flat resident passes at age of 82. Mrs. Alice Catherine SELF, 82 year old mother of Floyd SELF of Missouri Flat district (rural Placerville, California) died in a local hospital January 28, 1950. She had made her home with her son for the past five years. Funeral service for the Missouri-born woman were held Monday afternoon in Memory Chapel. The Rev Henry B. MC FADDEN officiated, followed by burial in El Dorado Cemetery. She was the widow of Irvin E. SELF, and survivors include five sons: A. W. SELF, D. T. SELF and Irvin E. SELF, all of Oregon; Jack B. SELF of Fort Jone, California and Floyd of Placerville; two sisters Mrs. Hattie ADAMSON and Mrs. May BUELL; one brother, Walter Combs, all of California; 14 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren.

Notes: Alice Combs, born Clark Co, MO, was the d/o Albert G. and Amanda M. WILSON Combs of Stanislaus Co, CA and gd/o Thomas and Eva WHITMER Combs of Muhlenberg Co, KY.
