1086 Domesday Survey. Berkshire. South Moreton (modern) "Moretune: William LOVETT; Humphrey VISDELOUP. Church, mill."The Domesday Book adds "on Mill Brook; moat; church with a Saxon doorway." No Lovett and only one Combe record has been located in South Moreton's parish records so far, and this twelve years before the Soulbury, Bucks marriage of John and Elizabeth LOVETT Combe who did not remove to Sparsholt, Berks until ca 1643:
