West Hendred lies abt six mi. northeast of Sparsholt, and is a parish in the hundred of Wantage , county of Berks, 3¾ miles east of Wantage, 3 mi. northeast of Milton and less than 4 mi. southeast of West Ilsley. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Berks, and diocese of Salisbury… and in the patronage of the President and Fellows of Corpus Christi College, Oxford [records at Oxford?]. The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity.
