26 Jul 1598 - 28 Nov 1598 The will of William BOROWGHE Esq, dated 26 July 1598, proved 28 November 1598 in London, EN, included a bequest "to the poor of Northham in Devonshire." (Burroughs-Combs-Vassall-Ware Families)
Notes : William BORROUGHS was the brother of Stephen, whose daughter, Judith, m (1) Thomas SCOTT; and (2) John VASSALL whose descendants were later in both & Old Rappahannock Co VA where VASSALL witnessed a deed between William UNDERWOOD, Sr., step-son of Archdale Combs, and John FOXHALL, whose daughter m, among others, one Alexander GORGES (unidentified; however, see Archdale-Gorges Families). William's will also refers to a house leased to Martin ARCHDALE of London (uncle of Margaret ARCHDALE Combs). See Also the Burroughs-Combs-Beckingham Families of Lancaster County, Virginia.
