Haccombe, an extra-parochial liberty, forming, with the parishes of Combintinhead (Combe in Teignhead, Shalden (Shaldon) Green and Stokeinteignhead (Stokeintinhead), a distinct portion of the southern division, hundred of Wonford, county of Devon, 3 miles ESE of Newton-Abbot's, containing 27 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Bishop of Exeter... in the patronage of Sir H. CAREW, Bart. The church, dedicated to St. Blaize, is partly in the decorated style, and contains some very curious monuments: it was formerly collegiate, having been endowed with the great tithes of Haccombe and Quithcock, in Cornwall, for the support of an arch-priest and five inferior ones...

The James Logan Kendall Manuscript refers to the Combe-Carew Families of Haccombe, but without detail. No IGI entries have been located for any of the above parishes other than Stokeintinhead (a.k.a. Stoke in Teignhead, See next). Haccombe may be of particular interest if CAREW and CREW were ever synonymous given the Sparsholt, Berks marriage of Arthur & Elizabeth COMBE Crew.

No Combe in Teignhead or Shalden Green records have been located as yet.
