Chilham (not yet checked out as to location, etc.)

3 Sep 1598 Chilham, Kent. Christened: Francis_ COOMES, d/o Robert COOMES and Chriatian LEWSE (IGI, B: 14 Dec 1977 PROVO Ba: C065551, E: 17 Feb 1978 PROVO So: 924168, SP: 15 Mar 1978 PROVO Pr: 883910)

This is apparently a temple submission, and the source for the christening date is not known. It has been entered here due to the possibility that Chriatian was Christian and that it might be significant in ref the mysterious aunt Christian COMBE Langworth in the 1629 Orion College, Oxford University will of William COMBE, s/o John and Margaret ARCHDALE Combe of St. Mary the Virgin Aldermanbury, London where also are found the DIGGES-PALMER family of Chilham, Kent (See Anthony PALMER of Cambridge University).

Was LEWSE aka LUCY? See also Hampshire and 1st marriage of Sir Anthony PALMER, to Margaret, daughter of Sir William KINGSMILL of Southampton who names both LUCYS and COMBES in his will. See also Scott Hall, Brabourne, Kent, which includes mention of the Digges-Palmer families of Chilham. The only reference found to the location of Chilham so far is "Chilham near Canterbury" (not verified).
