Notes: The above family may have been close kin to Henry FLEET I of Lancaster and Old Rappa. Cos VA, whose property was adjacent to that of John Combs of Richmond Co VA, s/o Archdale Combs I. Stanard believed that Thomas FLEET the father might have been (not researched) the Thomas FLEET I who was s/o William & Katherine HONEYWOOD Fleet of Chatham, Kent, grandparents of Henry FLEET, Sr. of Lancaster & Old Rappahannock Cos, Virginia (s/o William & Debora SCOTT Fleet), which would make the above John FLEET and Henry FLEET I of Virginia, 1st cousins. Also note that John FLEET refers to his brother-in-law, Edward BOUGHTON of Little Laughton, Warwickshire, and the 1619 Visitation of Warwickshire indicates that Katherine BOUGHTON, d/o Edward, m William COMBS (s/o Thomas & Mary SAVAGE Combs), and that Joyce COMBS (d/o Thomas & Mary SAVAGE) m Edward BOUGHTON of Cawson, Warwickshire. See Also Lane-Nash intermarriages with Combs of Warwickshire. Hallow is abt 6 miles northwest of Ashley, Crowle (home of the ancestors of the Combs of Warwickshire). Two IGI entries exist for Combs in Hallow; however, only the first is a parish extract:

14 Feb 1642 Hallow, Worcester, England. Married: Alice COOMES and Thomas KINGS (IGI, Ba: E094761, So: 415181, Pr: 1238608)

A second entry, source unknown, indicates that an Elinor COMBES, the wife of Roger POWELL, was b ca 1662 in Hallow (IGI, F#: 446271, @, SP: Pre-1970 [indicates no original source])
