Daviess County was established in 1817 from Knox Co IN. In 1819, Owen Co was established from Daviess and Sullivan Cos IN. In 1820, Martin was established from Daviess and Dubois (Daviess loses to non-county area this same year, but regains part in 1821). Martin gains from Daviess in 1828.
