Notes: Based on children's ages and birth locations, Isaac appears to have been in Indiana in 1840. The 1840 census index for Indiana indicates there were Isaac Combs in the Indiana counties of Fountain and Union in 1840. No Isaac Combs is found in either of those two counties on the 1850 index. One Isaac & Mary L. LOVELESS [LOVELACE?] Combs 8/18/1837, Vigo Co, IN, the only Isaac and Mary (Polly) marriage found in Indiana thus far (possibly the Isaac who was b ca 1817, d 1886 in that county, but not on earlier census?).

Note: Benjamin F. Combs, born about 1838 in Sullivan County, married Margaret Sills, daughter of Nathaniel Sills in 1864. They had several children, then she died when she was about 33. She's buried alongside her mother and father. I'm not sure where Benjamin went after that, but the Sills raise his children. Frances Powell
