9 June 1839 Hardin Co., KY Deed Bk SFHC Film #0388600 p 25 (extracted by DebCoombs): This Indenture between Zilpha COOMBS of Anderson County state of Kentucky of the one part and John T. HILL of the County of Hadin of the other part Witnesseth that whereas the said J Hill is the present owner of a lot in Elizabethtown known as No 23 which he purchased of Samuel HAYCROFT who purchased the same of Daniel WILLIAMS who held the same under a Deed from the Sheriff of Hardin County as the property of Asa COOMBS & the benefit of the sale by several transfers having to the said Daniel WILLIAMS and whereas the said Zilpha COOMBSclaiming dower as the widow of the Said Asa COOMBS in the said lot hath compromised with the said WILLIAMS, HAYCROFT & HILL for the sum thatis said WILLIAMS $13.33 1/3 said HAYCROFT $13.33 1/3 and said HILL $13.33 1/3 and they paying also the conveyance The receipt of the payment in cashby said WILLIAMS & HAYCROFT and by note of said HILL is hereby acknowledgedand the same is taken in lien of Dower in and to the said lot In consideration whereof the saidZilpha COOMBS by John D COOMBS her attorney in fact hathgranted bargained& sold to the said John T. HILL the present holderall her right & Claim to Dower in said lot to him his heirs forever heagreeing to take norecourse on HAYCROFT & WILLIAMS the agreeing jointly to purchase the Dower In Testimony whereof the said Zilpha COOMBS by John COOMBS her attorney in fact hath hereunto set her hand & seal the day & year first written Zilpha COOMBS By JD COOMBS her attorney infact NOTE: John D.
