17 Oct 1838 (Fayette Co., KY Marriage Records) VAUGHN, James & Combs, Louisa (Marriage CD - Source Record Still Needed)

Notes: According to Vaughn Researcher Jimmy Vaughn, by family tradition (earliest source?) Louisa Combs was a "disinherited" daughter of General Leslie Combs who did not approve of the marriage, and as a result, she was not named in his will. However, it also appears that the basis for the tradition may have had to do with a deed of gift of a cow at the time of her marriage (Record Needed!). Could this have indicated that Louisa Combs Vaughan was a god-daughter of General Leslie? Could Louisa have been Louisa M., daughter of William Richardson Combs? (whose sister-in-law, Sytha BLANTON, had m Richard VAUGHAN (See Clark Co., KY records)
