25 Jan 1853 - 10 Feb 1863 Will of Mary DRURY proved 10 Feb. 1863, written 25 Jan. 1853. Mary DRURY of Saint Mary's County bequeaths to grandson Edgar Combs, son of John C. Combs, eight hundred dollars with the interest thereon from my death; to granddaughter Mary Drury Combs, daughter of John C. Combs my negro girl Eliza and her future increase and profits

I also give and bequeath to the said Mary Drury Combs one bed and furniture and five shares of Stock in the Saint Mary's Saving's Institution…

son William H. DRURY shall have the care and management of the property herein before bequeathed to my aforesaid grand children Edgar Combs and Mary Drury Combs until they arrive at lawful age then my son William H. DRURY shall pay over to my said grand children respectively the property herein before bequeathed to them. I give, devise and bequeath all the rest and residue of my Estate to my son William H. DRURY and my daughter Mary Ann DRURY…

Note John C. Combs married 25 Jan 1842 Eliza A. DRURY. Edgar is living with her father in the 1850 census and next door his sister Mary D. Combs is living with her grandmother Mary DRURY. One William A. LOKER (possibly the same who was witness) married in 1862 Susan E. Combs (d/o of William A. Combs and Ann WOODWARD). Could the close association of William A. LOKER indicate a relationship between William A. Combs and John C. Combs?

Cemetery of St. Nicholas Church that sits on what is now the Pautuxent River Naval Air Station. The Church was originally on what was known as Cedar Point. The Church was moved by the Navy and the headstone buried but the cemetery is in process of being restored.
