Howard County
1840 Howard Co, MO Census
p. 9
Daniel B. GOODE 10001 00001
1 m< 5; 1 m 20-30;
1 f 20-30
SE Note: Possibly the Daniel B. GOODE who married Minerva BANTA (d/o of Henry BANTA and Wilmouth Combs), on 9 Sept. 1837 Madison Co, KY. This couple can be found in the 1860 Placer Co, CA census.
p. 16
James MAUPIN 111301 010001
1 m< 5; 1 m 5-10; 1 m 10-15; 3 m 15-20; 1 m 30-40;
1 f 5-10; 1 f 30-40
SE Note: Possibly the James MAUPIN who married Elizabeth BANTA (d/o of Henry BANTA and Wilmouth Combs) on 24 Feb. 1820 Madison Co, KY. Since he is in the same county with Daniel B. GOODE, this James may be same as that of the 1830 Cole Co, MO census. In 1826, one James MAUPIN of Cole Co., Mo., obtained a BLM land patent in Moniteau Co. for 80 acres, Cert #20R, dated 30 Nov. 1826 (E1/2SW, Section 35 Township 47-N Range14-W 5th Meridian). Also, Henry BANTA (s/o of Henry and Wilmouth) passed through Cole Co., Mo., in the 1830s. In 1850 in Moniteau Co., there is a James MOPPIN, age 58, b. KY, with a wife named Elizabeth, age 57, b. in Tenn. It is shown that this Elizabeth was Elizabeth KENNEY; therefore, we might have the wrong James MAUPIN or he might have remarried to another Elizabeth.
