SE Notes: One Newale Combs and Sarah DUDGEON married 27 Dec 1868, Green Co, WI. Sarah is found with John and Elizabeth in the 1860 Green Co, WI census. Newell and Sarah found in the 1870 Green Co, WI census. Newell E Combs applied for a Civil War Pension in 1889 from Nebraska and his widow Sarah J Combs applied in 1900. He is likely the same as the Joel E Combs, CW veteran of the 1890 Saline Co, NE Veterans census since both served in Co G of the 22nd Wisconsin Infantry. Note that Sarah states her mother was born in Ireland, the same as stated for Elizabeth DUDGEON, believed to be Sarah's mother.
1889 Newell E Combs, who served in Co G, 22nd Wis Infantry, received a Civil War Pension. He applied April 22, 1889 from Nebraska (App # 700447, Cert # 492 799.
