Nassau is a "young" county, not having been created until 1898-9, from Queens Co, NY. Despite the youth of the county, it's settlements are among the oldest in America's Colonial History, with Hempstead Township having been formed in the 1650s. At present, we have no Nassau County records, but do have a new and large Hempstead Township Web Report that includes cemetery and burial records. See Richard COMBS I of Hempstead, who had arrived at that settlement by 1669.
