Mercer County was established in 1820 from Darke. In 1848, Auglaize was est. from Allen, Darke, Hardin, Logan, Mercer, Shelby and Van Wert.

Notes: This is Joseph Combs, Jr., s/o Joseph Combs, Sr. of Franklin Twp., Fayette Co, PA to Wayne (later Holmes) Co, OH. Although a copy is on file in the Auglaize Co Recorders office, this land was in Mercer Co at the time of both transactions.
21 Jan 1837 St. Marys, Auglaize Co (then Mercer), OH born: Hamilton R. Combs (extracted from the Clare Co., MI death certificate for same).
