Muskingum County was established from Fairfield and Washington in 1804. In 1808, Tuscarawas was established from Muskingum, and in 1810, Coshocton plus Guernsey from Muskingum and Belmont. In 1818, Perry was established from Fairfield, Washington and Muskingum.
