Williamson Co, Tennessee was established in 1799 from Davidson County, Tennessee, but greatly expanded over years to follow due to acquisition of Indian Lands until in 1807 Maury County, Tennessee was est. from southern Williamson. In 1845 Rutherford Co, Tennessee gained from Williamson, and in 1868, Rutherford and Williamson exchanged lands, and Davidson, Williamson and Montgomery gained from Cheatham.
Research of Williamson Co, Tennessee has been almost nil; however, it is interesting that a number of marriages occurred in this county despite no Combs appearing on either early tax lists or census.
