Henderson County, Texas, was established in 1846 from Houston and Nacogdoches Counties. Descendant Counties include Kaufman and Van Zandt (both in 1848)

George W. FEATHERSTON married Carolyn "Callie" Combs in Athens

Notes (from same source): George was born in Henderson County 17 March 1862. He was the sixth child of John F. and Mary P. FEATHERSTON. The children of George and Callie were Tilford, born 1886, married Ethel Ryan; Ara, died age 6, buried in Davis Cemetery; Ora, born 1892, married Carl Baugh; John, born 1894, married Ada Smith; Ethel, born 1896, married Eddie Rasberry; Eunice, born 1898, married D. W. Pointer; Travis, born 1899, married Reba Fitzgerald. Callie died at the age of 31, when the youngest child was fourteen months old (circa 1900). The family had just moved to Oklahoma to homestead, but, after Callie's death, George moved the family back to Henderson County. George later married Mary Jane Van Zandt, and they had six children together.
