Nacogdoches County, Texas, was established in 1836 from the Old Mexican Municipality. Descendant Counties include Rusk (1843), and (in 1846) Angelina, Cherokee, Dallas, Henderson, Hopkins, Houston, Hunt, and Upshur. The county seat is Nacogdoches.
