Nueces County, Texas was established in 1846 from San Patricio County. Descendant Counties include Cameron (1848), Live Oak (1856), Duval (1858), Jim Wells (1911), and Kleburg (1917). The county seat is Corpus Christi.

"Roy Frederick COMBS, 78, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2000, in a local hospital. Roy was a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather who will be missed dearly. R. K. served his country during World War II in the U. S. Navy. He retired from the Navy in 1980. We are thankful for the many happy memories he gave us.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Juanita MAHAN Combs, son ___, his stepson ___, daughters ___ all of Corpus Christi, Texas; ___ of Atlanta, Georgia; 9 grandchildren ___.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. on Friday, Marcy 10, 2000 at Seaside Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p. m. on March 11, 2000 at Seaside Memorial Park..."
