SE Notes: Possible that William PRITCHARD and Kate UNKNOWN Combs may have met in Canada since both Willis and his stepdaughter Mary E Coombs immigrated in 1891. Entry for Josephine Coombs states she was born in Kansas. The census taker very clearly differentiated between being born in Canada and being born in Canada England (abbreviated as CanEng by abstractor).Thomas was a son of Willis but incorrectly listed as a Coombs. He is listed as Thomas I PRITCHARD in the 1910 census where he is found with his mother Hate [Kate] PRITCHARD, Widow. Thomas PRITCHARD, single, age 23, registered for the WWI draft on 6/5/1817. He stated he was born in Port Orchard, Washington on Sept 28, 1893. His was a laborer at the Puget Sound Navy Yard in Bremerton and stated his mother was dependent on him (Source: Original image WWI Draft Registration Card, Ancestry.com). In 1910, Josephine, still living with her mother, states again she was born in Kansas but that her father was born in Maine. Kate is still alive in 1920 living in Port Orchard and enumerated next to one Ferris E Mabel E WHITMORE. Her son Thomas is in the community of Annapolis. Kate consistently states she was born in Missouri, her father born in Pennsylvania, and her mother born in Ohio.

Add'l Notes: Beatrice MANUEL, born Aug. 25, 1892 Pierce Co, WA, d/o of Florence PRITCHARD, 23, b. Canada, and Jno H MANUEL, 27, Student, b. Canada (Source: Original Images, Record #649, p. 16, Pierce Co, WA Birth Register, Washington Births, 1891-1907 database, Ancestry.com, abs. by SE)
