Bible Record oftranscript by Sue Elfving of the Sylvester Welch Sr. family bible that has been digitized by the Library of Virginia. The bible record transcript is part of the LOVA Bible Collection. Burr Combs, s/o of RW Robert Combs and Sarah Linton, married Catherine Welch, the d/o of Sylvester Welch [Sr] and Ann Glascock, d/o of Thomas Glascock and Agatha Rector. Ann (Glascock) Welch was a sister to Henry Glascock who married Jane L Combs, d/o of RW Robert Combs and Sarah Linton. Some of the entries below are for the family of John Linton Combs (s/o of Burr Combs and Catherine A Welch) and can also be seen in the Family Bible record of John Linton Combs that is uploaded to the Combs Bible pages. It appears that Burr and Catherine had only two sons and the one daughter who did not live very long. The bible gives us the dob and dod of Jane L Combs, the dod of her father Robert Combs, and the dob of Burr Combs, another son of Robert Combs. The bible states Robert died on May 13, 1842 and not May 12, 1842 as abstracted from a chancery suit. Jane married a little later in life than was typical for that era. They seemingly had one two children together. After Jane died, Henry remarried to Mary Furr.

Jane L Combs was born March 2 1784
