St. Botolph Without Aldgate
(0.87 northeast of city centre), London

St Botolph Without Aldgate (a.k.a. St Botolph Aldgate) , Aldgate High Street (.87 miles northeast of city centre), was destroyed by the Great Fire of 1666, rebuilt 1741. Holy Trinity Minories was united to St Botolph Aldgate in 1893.* Parish records are in the Guildhall Library: baptisms 1558-1927, marriages 1558-1695, 1711-1945, banns 1653-8, 1754-1846, burials 1558-1695, 1711-1853. Later baptisms and marriage registers are retained by the incumbent. A partial index to baptisms and marriages for 1558-1875 is in the IGI.

*Holy Trinity Minories (0.62 east of city centre) was destroyed in 1666, rebuilt in 1706, bombed in 1940 and sold. Parish records are in the Guildhall Library: baptisms 1563-1897, marriages 1579-1898, banns 1754-1898, burials 1566-1852. For later baptisms and marriages registers see St Botolph Aldgate. "According to an Act of Parliament passed in the our Lord 1751. The old Style ceases here and the New takes place and Consequently the next Day which in the old account would have been the 3rd is Now to be called the 14th so that all the intermediate nominal Days from the 2nd to the 14th are omitted or rather annihilated this Year, and the month contains no more than 19 days."
