15 EDWARD III. [ca 1341] C 143/256/11. Nicholas le FLOUTERE and Richard de COMBE to grant messuages in to the abbot and convent of Combe, the said Nicholas retaining a messuage and land in Sowe, and the said Richard in Binley. Warwick. John BALDEWYNE and Hugh de NAYLESTON to grant me... [incomplete entry]

Binley is less than 3 miles southeast of Coventry.

According to the 1619 Visitation of Warwickshire, Combe Family, Edward COMBE of Wasperton, Warwickshire (son and heir of John COMBE of Warwickshire by his first wife, [Joyce?] BLOUNT of Worcestershire), married Anna, daughter of Stephen HALES of Newland, Coventry, by whom he had Jocosa [Joyce], who married Francisco CORNWALL of Beferd [Burford], Shropshire; and Anna, who married Robertus DECONS [Robert DEACONS] of Wasperton ("fil. et heares iam super-stes 1619").

The 1619, Warwickshire Visitation, Hales Family, adds that Anna HALES' mother was Anna, daughter of Richard MORRISON of Bucks, by whom he also had Katherine HALES, wife of Edward BUGGES of Essex; Stephen HALES; Robert HALES (d. s.p.); Maria HALES, wife of Joh'i BUGGES (brother of Edward); second son, Tmothy HALES of Exhall, Coventry, husband of Elizabeth ASTLEY (d/o Thomas ASTLEY of Wolvey, Warwickshire); Carolus HALES of Newland ("one of his Mates Councell in the north ob 1618"), Elizabeth FISH (d/o Walter FISH of London). This Visitation lists Stephen's daughter, Anna, as having married Edward COMBE of Stratford, Warwickshire ("nupta Edw. COMBE de Stretford in Com. War.").

According to Salzman, L.F. ed., THE VICTORIA HISTORY OF THE COUNTY OF WARWICK. London. V.3. pub. by A. Constable. 1904, p. 264, Edward COMBES of Barford [Burford?], Warwickshire (eldest s/o John & Joyce BLOUNT Combes) d testate, but without male issue (See Warwickshire). His will has not yet been acquired.
