One part of the Combs Project is Deed Mapping, in this case where the land is identified by Township and Range (See also Index to Combs BLM Land and Combs Land of Salt Creek). Each Township consists of 36 sections of land, each one mile square.

The same numbering is used for townships as for sections, thus the following grid, for example, consists of 9 townships, each with 36 sections:
