Note: Although Combs were in Russell Co VA when Lee was established, no Combs are found in this county until after 1830. Reminder: County-Line Combs may have been recorded in Tennessee and/or Lee Co both due to ongoing disputes re the Tennessee-VA border.

(Passed down through family to Hobbs Researcher Gail Carmack). Also note that Vina Combs Lee also stated that James was the s/o William & Anna THOMPSON Combs, Jr.of Russell Co VA
