The living is a vicarage, in the peculiar jurisdiction and patronage of the Prebendary of Leighton-Buzzard in the Cathedral Church of Lincoln… The church, which is dedicated to All Saints, was formerly collegiate… (Lewis…, 1831)

No Combs have been located in the records of this parish. The following Lovett record was extracted from computerized transcriptions by the LDS Church of marriages for parishes in Bedfordshire from FHC Film 0543862 by Combs Researcher Denise Mortorff who adds that, due to the format, she was unable to interpret the handwriting personally.
(W. = wife, H. = husband):

24 Oct 1610 All Saints Parish, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. Robitus de Soulbury, Militis, and Alice, de Laigton.

The Lovett Memorials also include the above marriage exactly as transcribed above. “Robitus de Soulbury, Militis” was Sir Robert LOVETT of Soulbury, Bucks. The Buckingham Visitations and Burke's both state that Sir Robert's wife's given name was Anne, not Alice (Lovett Lineages). The visitations state that she was "Anne dau. of Rich SAUNDERS of Dinton in com. Buck," and Burke adds that she was the daughter of "Richard SAUNDERS, esq. of Dinton, by Elizabeth, his wife, daughter of BLOUNT, of Blountshall, in the county of Leicester." The Lovett Memorials state that she was “Alice Anne SAUNDERS of Dinton, Bucks” (no source was given for this, and it may have been the result of a later attempt to reconcile the conflicting records).

Robert and Ann SAUNDERS Lovett were the parents of Elizabeth LOVETT who m in 1630 in Soulbury Parish, Bucks, John COMBE, s/o John & Margaret ARCHDALE Combe of London. Although in Bedfordshire, Leighton Buzzard is less than three mi. from Soulbury Parish, Bucks, but nowhere near Knotting Parish, Beds.
