Barnet and Chipping Barnet are parishes in the hundred of [not yet extracted], county of Hertford. Barnet is 10.56 miles northwest of London, .62 mi. south of Chipping Barnet (adjacent to each other); and abt 8-9 mi. from St. Albans, Herts.

The marriage of Robert LUNGWORTH [LONGWORTH] is a Chipping Barnet marriage per IGI with the second source above listed. Likewise, the christenings of Frances (1604) and Augustine (1608) also appear in the parish records of Chipping Barnet, Herts per IGI entries. The Barnet (sans Chipping) marriage record for Robert LUNGWORTH gives wife's name as "Eliz. S." Also note that the above may not be all the Barnet IGI entries, and ditto for Chipping Barnet. Goodwife COMBS of Barnet, Herts or of Greenwich, Kent has not yet been identified An Andrewe STANTON was christened in Chipping Barnet on 24 Feb 1600, the son of Xpr. [Christopher] STANTON (IGI (2)). An Ancestral File entry states that a Christepher STANTON married 19 Nov 1598, Chipping Barnet, Herts, Agnes BURRYGE, but no marriage on this date or at this location is in the IGI as a parish register extract. An earlier Christofer STANTON married on 12 Jan 1565 at St Antholin Budge Row, London, an Elisabeth PIBORN (FamilySearch.Org, parish extract), but it is not known if a relationship existed between the two. No marriage of an Ellen BURRAGE to an ASPLEY has been located, nor any christening records been identified as this family.
