This will was grouped with the wills of William Fitch (Proved 17 Dec. 1576), Joane Smyth (Proved 21 June 1602), Jeremy Fitch (Proved 3 July 1649), Joane Fitch (Proved 10 July 1684), John James (Proved 16 Sept. 1631), Clement James (Proved 9 May 1639), Ales James (Proved 3 May 1576), Edward James (Proved 8 Mar 1612), Edmond Jeames (Proved 14 Jan. 1625), Richard Jemes (Proved 27 Dec 1652), John Jeame (7 Mar. 1649), and Grace Battiscombe (25 Apr. 1643) Those wills have not yet been reviewed.

Two undocumented submissions to the IGI shows that Hugh FITCHE married an Anne SMITH, one on 13 Sep 1585 and the other on 13 Sep 1586 (no parish listed). The marriage record does not appear in either the extracts of St. Albans or St. Peters. The above Thomas COOMMES (COMBS) has not yet been identified; however, note the 1620 will of Phillip COMBS of Berkshire who mentions both his brother, Thomas, and his wife's kinswoman, Joane SMITH.
Abbey, St. Albans
Note: Both IGI sources used herein for parish records show the earliest date as 1558. No christening records have been located elsewhere for any of the early Combes marriages and presumably, they are not extant.

Neither has a christening record for an Alice HOWLETT been located.
