Archdale, Combs &c. Families of
Saint Mary Aldermary, London

St. Mary Aldermary, Queen Street (a.k.a. St. Mary the Virgin Aldermary), survived the Great Fire, and was rebuilt by Wren in 1682. Extant records are: baptisms 1558-1910, marriages, 1558-1940, banns 1771-1952, marriage licenses 1860-1909, burials 1558-1851. Later baptisms and marriage registers retained by incumbent. A partial index to baptisms and marriages for the years 1538-1872 is in the IGI

As a result of both the Great Fire of 1666 and London's diminishing residential population, the parishes of
St. Antholin Budge Row, St. John the Baptist Walbrook and St. Thomas the Apostle were ultimately all united with St. Mary Aldermary (not to be confused with St. Mary the Virgin Aldermanbury). The parish records for all four are in the Guildhall Library. (GenDoc's Victorian Churches (Church of England a.k.a. Anglican)

Except where otherwise noted, all parish records were extracted from FamilySearch.Org, IGI, #0845228, "The parish registers of St. Mary Aldermary, London, containing the marriages, baptisms and burials, from 1558 to 1754" by Joseph Lemuel Chester, 1821-1882.
