Bracken County was organized in 1796 from Campbell and Mason Counties.  Brooksville is the county seat.  In 1798, Pendleton was established from Bracken and Campbell.  In 1867, Robertson was established from Bracken, Fleming, Harrison, Mason, and Nicholas Counties.
