Wright County, MO was established in 1841 from Pulaski. In 1845, Ashley (named changed to Texas the same year) was established from Shannon and Wright; in 1849, Laclede was established from Camden, Pulaski and Wright; and in 1855, Webster was est. from Greene and Wright.
Although Combs by Surname have not yet been located in Wright Co, MO, a number of married women who were either daughters or wives of Combs have been located in this county, including some who were already here at the time Wright was formed from Pulaski, as noted below.

"Samuel CODAY. Prominent among the successful and enterprising farmers and stock raisers of Gasconade Township stands the name of Mr. CODAY, who was born in Kentucky in 1818, and who is one of the old and much esteemed citizens of the county. He is the son of John And Betsey (SUMMERS) Coday. John CODAY was born in Virginia, and was one of the pioneers of Kentucky. He moved from that State to Indiana, and came to Missouri about 1835, locating on the farm where his son Samuel is now residing. There he died at an advanced age. Mrs. Betsey (SUMMERS) Coday is also deceased. They were the parents of eight children, five now living. The maternal grandfather was a miller by occupation, and was waylaid and shot. The maternal grandmother died in Wright county at a very great age. Samuel CODAY grew to manhood in Wright county, and married Miss Mary J. BINKLEY, who bore him nine children…"
