Stewart County, Tennessee was established in 1803-4 from Montgomery Co, TN. In 1819, Hardin, Humphreys and Perry Cos were established from Stewart, and in 1821, Henry, Carrol, Henderson and Madison Cos. Today, Stewart is bordered on the north by Trigg Co, KY, on the east by Montgomery Co, TN, and on the south by Houston & Benton Cos, TN; and on the west by Henry Co, TN and Calloway Co, KY.
No Combs by surname have been located in early Stewart tax lists or
census index 1830-1850 (earlier census not extant).
