The Arkansas Territory existed from 1819 to 1836 and that it was part of the Missouri Territory from 1812 to 1819. Prior to that it was part of the Louisiana Territory from 1805 to 1812 and part of the District of Louisiana under the authority of the Indiana Territory in 1803-1805.
