Cheltenham, a market town and parish in the hundred of Cheltenham, County of Gloucester, 8 miles ENE from Gloucester, and 95 WNW from London… includes the parish churches of All Saints , Christchurch , Emmanuel , Holy Trinity , St John , St Luke, St Mark, St Mary (the old Parish Church), St Michael, St Paul, St Peter and St Stephen. Cheltenham is less than two miles northwest of Charlton Kings, Gloucester.

II. William, who m. Joice, dau. of Richard de LAMOT, and had issue,
1. Anthony, of Temple Guiting, who m. 1st Jane, dau. of William ROUSE of Worcestershire family, and had issue, a son, (1) Rouse. He m. 2ndly, Mary, dau. F --William GENT, by whom he had issue, (2) William and (3) Anthony.

III. Richard, m. Margaret, dau. of --COMBE, and had issue, a son, Henry, who m. Abigail, dau. of William COKE. (Provided by Combs Researcher Vince Griffin who adds: "Time frame for the above four generations prior to 1640.")

Re William ROUSE, see John & Mary COMBS Rouse of Tachbrook, Warwickshire. Was William STRACHY of the STRACHIE-STACY Family? Also note marriage of Richard WARRE of Hestercombe, Somerset, to Joan, d/o John ATWOOD, their son, Richard WARRE having m Joan COMBE, d/o John COMBE, of Dalwood, Co Dorset (now Devonshire). Only two Combe entries are found in the IGI, and neither are from transcribed parish records:
