St Leonard Eastcheap
(0.62 mi. east of city centre), London

Note: The primary sources for information given in regard to parish records are (GenDoc's Victorian City of London Churches (Church of England a.k.a. Anglican)) and FamilySearch.Org
Saint Leonard Eastcheap (.62 east of city centre) was destroyed by the Great Fire in 1666 and not rebuilt. It was united to St. Benet Gracechurch in 1670, to Allhallows Lombard Street in 1864, and to St. Edmund the King and Martyr in 1937. Parish records are in the Guildhall Library: baptisms, 1538-1812; marriages, 1538-1705; and burials, 1538-1812. For later registers see St Benet Gracechurch. A partial index to baptisms and marriages 1538-1866 is in the IGI
11 Oct 1601 Saint Leonard Eastcheap, London, England. Christened: Humfrey STILE, s/o Antonie STILE (FamilySearch.Org, IGI, #0535720, Parish registers, 1538-1813 Church of England. St. Leonard Eastcheap Church (London) - film not yet viewed)
An Anthony STILE, grocer, is found in the City of London Orphan Court Records for the 1598 estate of Martin ARCHDALE. Anthony may be the same as above, and probably somehow related to another Humphrey STILE, also a grocer, who was already an adult in 1612 when he is found in the same records for the estate of John COMBE, draper of St. Mary the Virgin Aldermanbury. Humphrey was probably the same who married Sarah MANNING, maternal aunt of Randolph MANNING, h/o Mary COMBS (niece of Martin ARCHDALE and daughter of John COMBE). See also Combs &c. Visitations.
10 Aug 1613 Saint Leonard Eastcheap, London, England. Married: Thomas COOMES and Joan KEISWELL (FamilySearch.Org, IGI #0535720, Parish registers, 1538-1813 Church of England. St. Leonard Eastcheap Church (London); and Parish registers, 1558-1883 Church of England. St. Benet Gracechurch Church (London) [NIGI 1998] [Search Words: KEYESWELL, KIRSWELL, CASWELL]
Possibly the Thomas and Jane whose children were christened at St Michael Bassishaw beginning in 1620.
27 Feb 1674 Saint Leonard Eastcheap, London, England. Christened: Margaret COOMBS, d/o Thomas and Elizabeth (ibid.)
These two are the only Combs records in the IGI for this parish
