St. Nicholas Cole Abbey,

St Nicholas Cole Abbey, Queen Victoria Street, was rebuilt in 1671-1681. St Nicholas Olave was united to St Nicholas Cole Abbey in 1670,* St Mary Mounthaw and St Mary Somerset were united with St Nicholas in 1866,** and St Benet Paul's Wharf and St Peter Paul's Wharf were united to St Nicholas Cole Abbey in 1879. St Nicholas' parish records are in the Guildhall Library: baptisms, 1538/9-1975; marriages, 1584-1946; banns, 1754-1889; burials, 1538-1851. A partial index to baptisms and marriages for the years 1538-1885 is in the IGI. Only one Combs record has been located in that source:

*St Nicholas Olave was destroyed in 1666 and not rebuilt. Its parish records are in the Guildhall: baptisms, 1704-1908; marriages, 1705-1836; and burials, 1704-1852. A partial index to baptisms and marriages 1704-1875 is in the IGI. No Combs have been located in this parish. ** St Mary Mounthaw was united with St Mary Somerset in 1670.
