St. Peter Paul's Wharf,

St. Peter Paul's Wharf (city centre) was destroyed in 1666 and not rebuilt. It was united to St Benet Paul's Wharf in 1670, and to St Nicholas Cole Abbey in 1879. Parish records are in the Guildhall Library: baptisms, 1607-1886; marriages, 1607-49 and 1653-60; and burials, 1607-1848. For marriages circa 1680-1879, see St Benet Paul's Wharf. Other than Ellis COMBE, none of the other COMBES of St. Peter Pauls Wharf have been identified. It is not known if a connection existed between them and Ellis, who apprenticed as a Draper to John COMBE (h/o Margaret ARCHDALE) of St. Mary the Virgin Aldermanbury, London, in 1605. See also both St. Mary the Virgin Aldermanbury and St. Stephen Coleman St., London for additional records of Ellis who was "somehow" related to John and Margaret ARCHDALE Combs according to the 1629/30 Oriel College, Oxfordshire will of their son, William. Also note that Margaret ARCHDALE Combe's father, Thomas ARCHDALE was also a draper.
