St Olave Old Jewry
(1.24 mi. north of city centre) London
St Olave Old Jewry (Poultry) (1.24 mi. north of city centre) was destroyed by the Great Fire of 1666, and rebuilt in 1670-76. St Martin Pomeroy (Ironmonger, Iremonger) was united to St Olave Old Jewry in 1670, and St Mildred Poultry & St Mary Colechurch were both united to St Olave in 1871. All four were united to St. Margaret Lothbury in 1886 (St Olave was demolished in 1888-1891). St Olave parish records are in the Guildhall Library: baptisms 1538/9-1884, marriages 1538/9-1886, banns 1771-1803 & 1824-86, burials 1538-1849. For later baptisms, marriages and banns, see St Margaret Lothbury which have been retained by the incumbent. A partial index to baptisms and marriages 1538-1885 is in the IGI.1582 St Olave Jury St. Martin ARCHDALE cessed at at £40 in the subsidy. "London Citizens 1550-1603," R. M.
