Transcribed from TSLA Roll No. 9 by C. Hammett.

Transcriber Notes: (1) Due to fading and style, vowels were sometimes impossible to determine. When the transcriber could not determine specific letters in a name, a question mark was inserted for each indecipherable letter in the name. (2) Numbers on original are to right of name, not left as listed below. (3) Either these lists were not filmed in original page order, or were inserted in book out of order. They are listed below in original page number order.

Annotations

Notes: № 11 George HAWK was not George HAWK, b ca1800, d 1877, Madison Co, AR; s/o Jacob HAWK who d 1829 Warren County, Tennessee. Who is he then? (See Jacob Hawk of Benjamin Lockhart's 1812 Tax List Returned)

Notes: № 13 Andrew HASH; Possible kin, Jane HASH who m 15 Oct 1804, Green Co, KY, Samuel COMBS, widower of Rachel GRAHAM (he later d in Randolph Co, IL) and her cousin, Alvin HASH, b 18 Mar 1800, Green Co, Kentucky; d 18 Aug 1844, Washington Co AR; m ca 1821, Warren Co, TN, Easter DRAKE, d/o Jacob & Mary NOLAN Drake, Sr. of Warren Co, Tennessee & later Madison Co AR? (See the Goodspeeds' History, Washington Co, AR, Biography of Fielding HASH)

Notes: № 24 James LLOYD may be the same James LOYD listed on pg 6 of the Franklin County, Tennessee 1812 Tax List as Franklin came from Warren Co. He possibly owned property in both counties. Researcher Bob Cummings, gallion@gulf.net

Notes: № 61 Nimrod DODSON was possibly same who m 21 Oct 1797, Grainger County, Tennessee, Elizabeth CHISUM (d/o Elijah & Lucy CLAIBORNE Chisum of Hawkins, Grainger & White Cos TN) Note: Elijah CHISUM appeared on the 1812 White Co, Tennessee Tax List of William RIDGE, Jr., s/o William & Winnifred Combs Ridge, Jr. of Surry Co, North Carolina (See Below)

Notes: Is № 63 the same as RW Thomas BROWN? (See Also Robert BROWN of Graham's Return and see RW Soldiers of Warren TN (and surrounding counties)

Notes: № 75 Reziah JARVIS is possibly the same Reziah JARVIS who was in Surry Co, North Carolina by 1784 (land entry) and who traveled 128 mi. round trip in 1786 as the result of a suit involving the estate of William RIDGE, Sr., d 1780 at the Battle of Hanging Rock in SC, a British Loyalist, resident of Surry Co, North Carolina and h/o Winnifred Combs, d/o Mason Combs, Sr., d 1785 Surry Co, North Carolina. Winnifred Combs Ridge later m Nathaniel ALLIN, and may have died in White Co, Tennessee where her son William RIDGE, Jr. also d in 1819 (In both 1811 and 1814, a Reziah JARVIS was on the tax list returned by William RIDGE, Jr.) (See Tories of Surry Co, North Carolina) Also note that a West MOSELEY also gave a deposition that year (travelled only 30 mi. round trip), as did Elihu AYERS (See below and also the AYERS on the list of John HAMMONDS. In 1820, Reziah was probably the Keziah Jarvis on p. 294 of the Warren Co, Tennessee census, and that “Alner” above was probably the Abner Jarvis on p. 298 of the 1820 Warren County, Tennessee Census.

Notes: № 86 Casper Myers, born abt. 1768 in Maryland or Virginia was living in Sullivan Co. TN by 1796. He, his wife Abigail and children moved to Warren Co. in 1812 after selling their land to Phillip Kite. Submitted by Stacy A. Anderson <alnstr@hughes.net>

Notes: № 91 Nathaniel PAYNE could be the same as Nathaniel, s/o David PAYNE and father of Susan PAYNE who m 13 Apr 1833, Grayson Co, Virginia, Zadock COMBS? (Death records of Patrick Co, Virginia)
