SE Notes: This deed identifies the wives of Samuel Combs and Samuel Hun(d)ley as heirs of George "8" Combs, and further confirms an earlier deed that shows George had a daughter named Eliza [who married secondly Samuel Combs, see 1850 Perry Co. census] and a daughter named Elizabeth [who married Samuel Hundley]. The Liddy Combs of the record may refer to Lette Combs, wife of Moses Combs and daughter of George, or it could refer to George's widow Liddy HACKER. Isaac B. See Edwin, age 7 on 1860 Perry County census, and Edward, age 17 on 1870 Perry Co., KY Census.
15 Jul 1852 Birth: female OWINS (dec'd) daughter of Hardin OWINS & Louisa Combs (Extracted by Debi Houser from Perry County, Kentucky Records 1850 Census, Vital Statistics, 1852-1859, published by the Perry County Genealogical and Historical Society)

15 Jul 1852 Death: male OWINS son of Hardin OWINS & Louisa Combs (Extracted by Debi Houser from Perry County, Kentucky Records 1850 Census, Vital Statistics, 1852-1859, published by the Perry County Genealogical and Historical Society)

DK Note: Either there is some confusion as to sex of this child, or twins were born to Hardin and Louisa Combs Owens, both dying at or near birth? Ancestry of Louisa? See 24 Jul 1840 Perry marriage of a Hardin OWENS and see 1850 Perry Co., KY Census HH of Levisa OWENS adjacent to a Hardin OWENS.
29 Jul 1852 Death: L___ Combs, single, 15 yrs old, male, died of bold hives; son of Jackson G. & Polly Combs (Extracted by Debi Houser from Perry County, Kentucky Records 1850 Census, Vital Statistics, 1852-1859, published by the Perry County Genealogical and Historical Society)

Notes: The 1850 Perry Co., KY Census (District 2, 187-205) lists Jackson G. Combs with wife, Martha, not Polly; however, Jackson G. Combs did have a son named Leslie, born ca 1838 who would be within one year of having been right age to be the above L. Combs. Alternatively, could this have been the son of Jackson D. Combs, died Sep 1849 instead? See also below for numerous other 1852 deaths for children of Jackson G. and Polly [Combs?] Combs and see 1850 Perry Census.
07 Aug 1852 (Birthdate, Child, Father,Mother) William Combs, Hughey Combs, Nancy FRANCIS (From the microfilm records of Birth-Death Records for Perry Co., KY Family History Center -LDS, Transcribed by Researcher L. 17 Aug 1852 Death: C____ Combs, single, 4yrs old, male, d of flux; son of Jackson G. & Polly Combs (Extracted by Debi Houser from Perry County, Kentucky Records 1850 Census, Vital Statistics, 1852-1859, published by the Perry County Genealogical and Historical Society)

Notes: The above was possibly Cassius(?) Combs, b ca 1848 per 1850 Perry Co., KY Census, although, again, that census, and records through the 1860s, indicate Jackson was married to a Martha "Patsy" Combs, not a Polly.
25 Aug 1852 Death: Andrew Combs, single, 9 yrs old, male, died of flux; son of Jackson G. & Polly Combs (Extracted by Debi Houser from Perry County, Kentucky Records 1850 Census, Vital Statistics, 1852-1859, published by the Perry County Genealogical and Historical Society)

Notes: See 29 Jul and 17 Aug 1852 records. The 1850 Perry Co., KY census lists no Andrew Combs in 1850 HH of Jackson G. Combs. Even if, however, Andrew's full given name was Andrew Jackson Combs, he was not Jackson Combs, age 7 in 1850 census HH of Jackson G. since that Jackson was still alive in 1860 (See 1860 Perry Co., KY Census). No Andrew Combs is found in Perry Co., KY Census of this age to have been a son of Jackson D. either.
26 Aug 1852 Death: Crittendon Combs, single, 6 yrs old, male, died of flux; son of Jackson G. & Polly Combs (Extracted by Debi Houser from Perry County, Kentucky Records 1850 Census, Vital Statistics, 1852-1859, published by the Perry County Genealogical and Historical Society)

Notes: See 29 Jul 1852 record. The1850 Perry Co., KY census lists no Crittendon Combs in HH of Jackson G. Combs. Moreover, no Crittendon Combs who would have been 3-5 years of age in 1850 is found listed in any household; however, he may have been John Crittendon Combs,* in which case he was born ca 1845. *See John and Rachel BAKER Combs Family o fOwsley and Clay Counties, KY, who named son, John Crittendon Combs.
6 Sep 1852 Birth: Elijah BEGLEY son of Elijah BEGLEY & Nancy Combs (Extracted by Debi Houser from Perry County, Kentucky Records 1850 Census, Vital Statistics, 1852-1859, published by the Perry County Genealogical and Historical Society)

Notes: According to The Combes Genealogy, Mary [sic] Combs, daughter of Samuel and Nancy CORNETT Combs, married Elijah R. BEGLEY (See 1850 Perry HH of Elijah and Mary BEGLEY). A Nancy Combs is in 1850 Breathitt Co., KY Census HH of Samuel, but in 1860, appears to have later married Jackson EDWARDS (whom The Combes Genealogy states married Samuel's daughter, Lucy Combs).
4 Nov 1852 Death: no name STACY age__, male, son of James & Nancy STACY (Extracted by Debi Houser from Perry County, Kentucky Records 1850 Census, Vital Statistics, 1852-1859, published by the Perry County Genealogical and Historical Society)

DK Note: Could this be the child listed below on the 11th with the dates wrong?
7 Nov 1852 Birth: Margaret McINTOSH daughter of William McINTOSH &Susan Combs (Extracted by Debi Houser from Perry County, Kentucky Records 1850 Census, Vital Statistics, 1852-1859, published by the Perry County Genealogical and Historical Society)

Notes: See William and Syrena [sic] McINTOSH, 1850 Perry Co., KY Census, District 1, 022-023, and Sarena McINTOSH of 1860 Perry Co., KY Census. Was Susan actually Sarena (a.k.a. Syrena, Sirena, Serena)?

GODSEY married Sytha Combs bef 1850 (above records and 8 Nov 1852 Perry Co., KY Records); and they are found on the 1850 Scott Co., VA and 1870 Perry Co., KY Census (The Combes Genealogy erroneously lists Robert H. as Oscar GODSEY). Nancy married Robert DAVIDSON and they resided in Breathitt Co. Dorcas married Wayne DAVIDSON. John WALKER had married Polly Combs by 1837 (10 Aug 1853 Perry Co., KY Records and 1850 Perry Census). R. C. Combs was Robert C. who married Eliza Combs (1851-1859 Perry Co., KY Records). According to Josiah H. Combs' Combes Genealogy, Gen. Table, p. 135, an "Eliza (Ella) Combs" (ancestry not shown) married Robert C. Combs, son ofSamuel and Nancy CORNETT Combs. (no source), but on p. 140 of General Table, erroneously lists Elizabeth (rather than Polly Ann) as having married John WALKER. (2) There was also, however, a Nicholas Combs who died 31 Aug 1853, Owsley Co., KY, son of N and Mary Combs Combs, about whom no more is known. Notes: Jeremiah C. "Chunky Jerry" Combs. See also 19 Jan 1853-7 Feb 1853 (Perry Co., KY DBC:261). There were two conveyances from the heirs of Jeremiah C. Combs decd. dated 7 April 1854. The one above was to Moses Combs. JP Downard's abstraction for the Perry Co. USGenweb site does not include the name of Robert DAVIDSON in the list of those who signed as heirs and grantors; HOWEVER, an abstraction of the same conveyance by other researchers does include Robert DAVIDSON's name as does the second conveyance (see next). Robert H.GODSEY married Sytha Combs before 1850 (above records and 8 Nov 1852 Perry Co., KY Records). They are found on the 1850 Scott Co., VA and 1870 Perry Co., KY Census enumerations (The Combes Genealogy erroneously lists Robert H. as Oscar GODSEY). Nancy married Robert DAVIDSON. Dorcas married Wayne DAVIDSON. John WALKER had married Polly Combs by 1837 (10 Aug 1853 Perry Co., KY Records). R.C. Combs was Robert C. who married Jeremiah C.'s daughter, Eliza Combs (1851-1859 Perry Co., KY Records). According to Josiah H. Combs' Combes Genealogy, Gen. Table, p. 135, an "Eliza (Ella) Combs" (ancestry not shown) married Robert C. Combs, son of Samuel and Nancy CORNETT Combs. . (no source), but on p. 140 of General Table, erroneously lists Elizabeth (rather than Polly Ann) as having married John WALKER.

Note: According to the source Perry County, Kentucky Records 1850 Census, Vital Statistics, 1852-1859, published by the Perry County Genealogical and Historical Society, this record was for a Jeptha [sic] FULLER (19) and Elizabeth Combs (19); however, the above source also includes the Mar. 18 1854 Perry Co., KY Marriage of "FULLER, Jeptha (19) & PATTON, Elizabeth (18)" and it appears the compiler may have confused the two records given the 25 Jan-1855 Perry Co., KY birth record of Betsy FULLER, daughter of Leviticus FULLER and Jane Combs, and the 1860 Perry Co., KY Census which also lists Leviticus with wife, Jane(?), age 21. Jiney (Jane) Combs appears in the estate records of Jeremiah L. Combs, Sr., and the 1850 Perry lists Jane, age 12, in HH of Sarah WHITELY (Combs) Cox, the widow of Jeremiah L. Combs, Sr. Listed immediately above their household is that of Elijah FULLER with both Jeptha and Leviticus. Either the name Elizabeth is in error or her full name was Elizabeth Jane.
