What's New in Missouri

  1. New directory for our Combs &c. Families in Missouri Counties.
  2. Scores of both new and updated Missouri Combs County Research Reports (see below), although many remain incomplete (Combs Research Editors are always far behind in publishing the prodigious output of our Combs Researchers). In addition to reading our MO Combs County Reports, researchers are also encouraged to search our Combs Research List Archives (all back postings to our Combs Research List).
  3. Two New Manuscripts, both authored by Combs Researcher Michael R. Wilson. The first is titled Combs School - Jackson County, Missouri and the second James H. Combs and the contested 1866 Jackson County, Missouri Election. Important! Although the titles of these two articles suggest that they are intended for Jackson Co, MO researchers, their author has, in the first instance, provided his readers with an excellent picture of early schools in not only Missouri, but throughout America's frontier; and in the second, great insight into the policies and politics of post-Civil War Missouri. Both are recommended reading for all researchers of America's Frontier states, and Missouri Researchers can also look forward to additional articles provided to Combs Research by this author, soon to be published and available from this site.
